Welcome to Fourth Grade
In fourth grade, one of our main goals is helping our students children become responsible for daily assignments, taking care of their belongings, becoming good listeners, and strengthening their reading and writing skills.
We're also working on the following:
| English Language Arts: | Reading a variety of different types of books, responding to questions about what's been read, and writing three to five well-organized and detailed paragraphs on various topics. |
| Mathematics: | Geometry, problem-solving, multiplication/division, fractions, decimals, and measurement. |
| Science: | Animals and their habitats, ecosystems and food chains, electricity, magnets, matter and energy, measurement, weather, , rocket design, solar system, and plants. |
| Social Studies: | New York State/local history and map usage. Our units include Geography; Native Americans (Iroquois); Explorers/Colonial New York; Revolutionary War in NYS; The New Nation; Industrial Growth and Expansion; Urbanization; and Local and State Government. |
