Horseheads Strategic Plan

In December 2009, a Ten-Year Strategic Plan was presented to and approved by the Horseheads Board of Education. More than 100 people were involved in crafting the plan - community members, students, staff, and business people. They began work on the plan in September 2008, with a core committee guiding the work, surveys completed by both staff and community, and six task forces working on various topics using survey results and other data to create objectives and action plans. Currently, an implementation team is working to guide the implementation of the plan.

Implementation Team

The Strategic Plan Implementation Team will guide the implementation of the ten-year strategic plan. The team is made up of representatives from across the district – staff, students, businesspeople, and community members. They will meet regularly throughout the implementation process, providing direction to the various teams and individuals who will carry out the action plans outlined in the strategic plan. The team will use a set of operational guidelines to direct their work, and they’ll use the district shared decision-making plan (click here to read) to guide the flow of communication from the team to the schools.
